Business Benefits
The benefits from the app will be countless, but in terms of key objective setting, we narrowed it down to 4 key measurable benefits;
1. Reduce acute admissions and secondary care pressures
- We aim to have 12 months of pre-launch data (there are peaks and troughs with seasonal changes leading to greater A&E and healthcare system pressures)
- Local A&E admission data relating to mental health (within the target age group) for the period to do a side by side comparison
- The average cost for A&E admissions (able then to multiply the reduction we will hopefully see to fully estimate the cost efficiencies)
- Secondary care data if available e.g. number of emergency GP appointments using the same formula as above to estimate the efficiency savings
2. Provide rapid access to services and support for those on waiting lists
- User feedback / asking CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and other services to ask for feedback on our behalf (e.g. the services they have been on the waiting list for)
3. Provide an app/service which is driven by a robust governance structure in line with the Caldicott principles, GDPR, NICE guidance and local/national CYP safeguarding policy frameworks
- All app content will be age-appropriate, managed directly within the app from pre-approved / authorised sources
4. Produce anonymised data and analytics to help drive future initiatives and funding for the local health economy
- Demographic reporting information collected upon sign up; gender, age etc
- Number of users
- Locality information
- Number of times logged in etc
