Business Challenges

An innovative technology to diagnose and treat respiratory problems in patients was launched and pioneered by the Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) in partnership with Desap. The application provides Salford GP’s and Practice Nurses with access to Respiratory Assistance resources and patient information on the go, using mobile devices or tablets.

Our Solution

The Salford CCG and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, with Desap, developed a new smartphone application, Resp Assist. Resp Assist provides GP’s, clinicians, nurses and other members of the Salford healthcare team, a guide to the treatment and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Asthma.

The Resp Assist medical app highlights to GP’s, clinicians and other members of the Salford healthcare team:

  • Information needed for the diagnosis and treatment of COPD and Asthma.
  • Guidelines to follow for the management of COPD and Asthma flare-ups or exacerbations.
